Flow 93.5 Changes Spots

The remains of the Snowpocalyse is over with. We’re all returning to our regularly schedule day life, already in progress. Yeah, it didn’t stun anyone at all. Sure it didn’t. Roads were unsafe and the snow was continuous for a good 10 or so hours. I took myself to shovel inbetween my stay-at-home break. What fun that was. Apparently, if you were out or a fan of the Flow 93.5, you had something to grumble about. My brother-in-tweets, Robsarj, had something to say about it.  Flow has changed formats to rule out some of its’ more diverse and multicultural aspects as Chum bought them out. This means that some of your favorite radio DJs, on this station, will no longer be joining us. There is even speculation as to the name being changed. And yeah, it affected me, too.

Growing up in the 90s GTA, I felt the sting of the news. I remembered the times when we would go out of our way to FIND such quality that didn’t encompass the same 20 songs. Especially for the hip hop culture. I wouldn’t hear a Wu-Tang joint on Chum, nor CHFI giving the Rascalz a chance. It was a hard thing to come by back then, even when WBLK took our airwaves. I recalled hearing about the very struggles of Canadian hiphop artists trying to find a voice, to get played, from Damix and Rapcity interviews. It was a struggle to hear them get their shine. Also, the random occurance of probably CHIN station to play quality soca and reggae tracks. Flow brought that. It wounded not only myself, but also, the chances of Flow returning to what it was and its’ loyal followers.

However, Flow’s latest change doesn’t surprise me. Flow switched gears before earlier in the last decade. For a bit more Hp[e  information about this tragic item, hit up Mark Strong’s blog.  «< This is pretty much the most comprehensive part of the news.

Also, thank God we still have the interweb.

Like I said peeps, keep that CHIN up. ttyl
