gmail dresses up again in a more practical way
Google’s mail client has a brand new look….
And I like what it’s doing. No real complaints or bitching here about what has been brought. Good responsive plays make this version more intuitive to user preferences whether at its’ best and biggest width or its’ most compact. The screen does 800 x 600 without any difficulty minus a few subjects getting lost in the cutting. There are three modes in the new settings box.
Still, I have some likes. Profile pictures are now added to the mix and a new conversation view makes the emails more readable.
My beef with the latest change is the side navigation. That whole “show labels” and “don’t show labels” feature becomes cumbersome for a time and could obstruct the user’s interaction if it is longer. Still something that can be addressed by making the adjustments.
This is my first day, though. I’ll be doing more of a test as I go. Very interesting, Google. Very interesting indeed.
